David Raber was appointed by Director Bell to serve as The Department of Administration's Deputy Director in May 2009.
Returning to the agency where he began his professional career in 1989, David has more than sixteen years of State Government experience as well as time spent working in the private sector. Prior to joining the ADOA Leadership Team, David worked in several executive-level managerial positions at the Arizona Corporation Commission. Joining the Commission Staff in 2004, he served as Deputy Director of the Securities Division, Director of the Corporations Division, and Director of a newly-created Safety Division. Before that, David served for six years (1998-2003) in various positions at the Governor’s Community Policy Office, most recently as the Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer. David’s other positions include stints at the Arizona State Land Department and in the private sector with Del Webb Corporation in Scottsdale and Magma Copper Company in Tucson.
David is an Arizona native, raised in Phoenix. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Arizona State University in 1988 and is a Certified Public Accountant. David is married to Heidi and they have two teenage children. His son, Kyle attends ASU and his daughter, Nikki attends Arcadia High School. David enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, snow skiing, hiking and other outdoor activities.
