Mr. Swenson joined the Treasurer’s Office in January 2007 as Deputy Treasurer for strategic planning and research.
Prior to his current position, Mark was employed at the Arizona State Senate for more than 12 years on Majority Staff as a Senior Policy Advisor. From 2002 through 2006, Mark was the senior policy advisor for budget and tax policy. Previously, he had advised the caucus on education, natural resources, and economic development policy, media relations and also served as Policy Director. Prior to his service in the Senate, Mark was a reporter for the Tucson Citizen, covering state and local politics for nine years.
A graduate from the University of Arizona, Mark enjoys spending time with his family.
