TREASURER DEAN MARTIN TO ADDRESS STATE BUDGET CRISIS
(STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX) – State Treasurer Dean Martin will hold a press conference on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. to address the state budget crisis. The State is spending faster than revenues are coming in. The Treasurer will update the public on when the State will have spent all of the general fund revenues that are expected this year.
State Treasurer Dean Martin is the Chief Financial Officer for Arizona, third in succession to the Governor, overseeing $13 billion in assets under management. Treasurer Martin has opened government finances to the public on his website AzTreasury.gov. Last fiscal year, Treasurer Martin made taxpayers over $730 million and increased investment earnings by 24% over the previous administration.
