The Arizona State Treasurer’s Office is looking for an Application Developer (Computer Programmer).

We have an extensive suite of applications which provide a wide range of financial related processing and reporting features for our internal and external clients. These applications require regular maintenance and upgrades. The specific responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Maintain and develop LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP) applications using the Zend Framework I and javascript/jquery.
  • Maintain and enhance our public website (
  • Research, reverse engineer, design, re-design, and document databases, programs, maintenance procedures and end user procedures for existing and future applications.
  • End user training and support
  • Other tasks as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of our applications and our office in general.


The ideal candidate should have as much of the following as possible:

  • A strong desire to utilize open source tools to implement business solutions. We do not use proprietary operating systems or tools for our production applications.
  • Degree in Computer Science or undergraduate studies that include algorithms, data structures, databases, software engineering, etc.
  • PHP experience. Framework experience is a plus. MVC paradigm knowledge a plus.
  • Linux development experience. Slackware, xfce, and Netbeans knowledge a plus. Console proficiency a plus.
  • Mysql experience. The ability to be your own DBA and manage the databases yourself is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SDLC principles, HTML, CSS and javascript/jquery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems with minimal documentation and minimal supervision
  • Exceptional interpersonal and social skills, including patience in interacting with users who have little technical experience.
  • Financial and/or accounting experience (IE an accounting class or two would be a plus).

The Arizona State Treasures Office is seeking an Accountant I to provide entry-level professional accounting support to the Administrative Services Division. As the Accountant I, you will be held accountable for processing non-state court fee deposits, overseeing day-to-day processing of VISA changes for the Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program, and serving as backup for the processing of agency deposits.

The Arizona State Treasures Office is seeking an Accountant I responsible for preparing and reviewing daily reports for investment accounting, posting journal entries to the general ledger, comparing investment trade activity to broker confirmations and maintain records for the Local Government Investment Pool (LGIP) and State Agency participants.

The Arizona State Treasures Office is seeking a Collateral Analyst. The Collateral Analyst will be responsible for the administration of the pooled collateral program as established under Title 35. The person in this position must understand the stock and bond market with experience and emphasis pricing of collateral.
